Gazelli Art House is a contemporary gallery based in London. In 2015, the gallery launched its Digital Art House, an online residency for artists working in the digital and virtual reality realm.
Our aim was to create an immersive experience of The Old Mine at Hemingfield, a turn of the century coal mine in the north of England. Iain Nicholls conceived the project, an artist who we have collaborated with before on the award winning Veil experience in 2015.
Using photogrammetry as well as the manipulation of light and sound, we created an immersive and historical experience of the mine. The poet and broadcaster Ian McMillan additionally narrated the installation.
The work was presented at Gazelli Art House gallery in Mayfair, London as part of the group show Enter Through The Headset 2 during the summer of 2017.
