DP World wanted a virtual reality experience serving for a variety of functions – as a sales tool, an attraction and for education. Thus, it needed to be informational yet entertaining, convey a sense of scale but also allow users to drill into details.
We created a Logistics VR experience whereby users get a narrated guided tour of the state-of-the-art facilities, learning about the services offered as well as experiencing 360 views of the site. The immersive VR marketing experience conveys the buzz of activity on the site -cranes picking up containers, ships coming into port and lorries scurrying around the site.
The experience can be enjoyed as a guided tour by an animated virtual guide built through our own motion capture system. You can also however take control and explore the park freely. Additionally, users can even fly to space to see how the port integrates with the world’s major shipping routes.
The experience, DP World VR, was debuted at Transport Logistic expo in Munich. DP World was additionally supplied with extra portable VR hardware to utilize at other forthcoming events.
